Gautby Village

Gautby is a quiet village, surrounded by ancient forests with many walks, a Georgian red brick church is still in use. There a small village hall used for meetings, and a red telephone booth, a farm meat shop, a visiting Grimsby fish van and local produce available via a roadside stall.

The neighbouring village of Minting hosts a large community hall with tennis court and playing fields, visiting theatre, youth club, carpet bowls etc. There is also the 16th century Sebastopol public house and restaurant serving good food and wine.

Sowberry House is in the catchment area for the excellent Horncastle Grammar School (school bus stops at the end of the drive). There are also good private schools in both Woodhall Spa and Lincoln.

The Lincolnshire coast is approx 20 miles away and a good rail link from Newark to Kings Cross is easily accessible.
